Makes
Magnetic Helping Hands similar to a commercial design from Europe that seems to always be out of stock.
Additional parts required to make one "hand":
* 1 x 10mm x 5mm neodymium countersunk ring magnet
* 1 x 1.375" x 23/64" spring
* 1 x M4 x 30mm hex standoff
* 1 x M4 x 35mm hex standoff
* 2 x M4 x 10mm threaded steel ball ends
* 2 x M4 x 6mm screw
* 4 x M4 washers
* Heat shrink tubing for jaws
* Steel plate to use as work surface when complete
The magnet holder rings should be a tight press fit onto the magnets - a vise may help push them together. They do have a very slight ledge on the "top," so be sure to look for that and insert the magnet into the opposing side. If they are somewhat loose for any reason, a drop of CA glue will secure them.
Recommend making four of these to hold circuit boards, wires for soldering, small parts, etc.
