These are designed for 16.4mm diameter 6mm thick or smaller round magnets. I'm using rare earth neodymium magnets, not sure if it would work other kinds of magnets.
First may I say I'm a newbie to working with magnet fields. That being said, when arranging the magnets, I've found that arranging them in regular plus minus order works best. But when putting them in the platform itself, have opposite ends in opposite order. As in:
Levitation platform base magnet configuration:
( + - + - + - - + - + - + )
( + - + - + - - + - + - + )
Other side
( + - + - + - - + - + - + )
( + - + - + - - + - + - + )
Levitation platform magnet configuration:

Other side
( - + - + + - + - )
Mind you the regular 'football' is the intended cap for the bottom of the platform magnets.
