I bought some rechargeable motion sensitive LED strip lights (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006736514561.html). They come with steel plates that have sticky tape that you stick on a wall/ceiling/cabinet. The lights have embedded magnets that you can then line up with the plates to stick the light to the wall/ceiling/cabinet and allow for easy removal for recharging the strip light. My application required that they stick to raw wood and the sticky tape was not up for the task.

This holder is a replacement for the steel plates and will screw to the wall/ceiling/cabinet for a positive mount and itself contains embedded rare earth magnets that positively hold the light in place, much better than the steel plates that come with the strip light.

The rare earth magnet are ones I had on hand and are 1/2 inch (12.67mm) in diameter and 1/8 inch (3.2mm) thick. They might be these (https://www.leevalley.com/en-ca/shop/hardware/rare-earth-magnets/magnets/disc/32065-rare-earth-circular-
