Makarov Barrel Press

I created and printed this press in order to remove the stock 9x18 barrel from a Bulgarian Makarov so I could install a threaded 380acp replacement in a procedure documented in the following excellent tutorials:

The press head & body are designed to be used with two standard 1/4" nuts & bolts to provide the press force, and one 10-24 cross bolt to secure body on the pistol frame. 100% infill PLA turned out to be plenty strong for the job, which ended up far easier than anticipated. Once the original barrel was removed from the frame, one of the 1/4" bolt & nut was used in conjunction with a piece of 1/2" EMT conduit to install the replacement barrel.

All in all this was a fun & surprisingly easy job. The only real challenge was to tap out the the barrel retention pin prior to using the barrel press for the barrel removal procedure.
