I designed this enclosure as a lighting control box for "maintenance" LED lighting strips mounted to the right hand Z-Stage support of my MakerGear M2 printer. The lighting provides illumination for cleaning and lubricating the Z-axis mechanism and guides as well as during Z-axis stop adjustment and bed leveling. The control is just an on-off push button since the lighting is only used during offline maintenance of the printer as opposed to the "operational" lighting I have also installed and which uses relays so that the on-board processor (via G-Code) or interface PC (via serial) could be made to turn the work lights on and off at different stages of printing (potentially in response to sensor inputs). Haven't implemented remote control of the operational lighting yet, just put hardware hooks in place so that it could be interfaced in the future.
