Mallet Finger Brace

I designed this finger brace to fit my middle finger. It can be resized to fit. It allows the finger pad to be exposed which renders the finger partially useful, better than other braces with underslung support, which I found hurt the underside of the knuckle. UPDATE: v12 It's getting hotter in the UK, and as a result the v10 design tends to depress the top of the finger between distal and medial joints. To avoid the uncomfortable soft tissue step that results I extended the plat on top to back the knuckle which helps distribute the pressure more evenly.

UPDATE; v13 I found that after a week or so the skin under this thing get really sensitive, and needs a break from the constant cover. I therefore moved the strut to the sides to leave the top of the finger as exposed as possible. This should reduce the amount of the finger that suffers from pressure pain.
