This was created on request from photos. The slot part was eyeballed due to lack of accurate dimensions. Let me know if it needs adjustment, but I guess the exact shape won't be too crucial. Same for the thickness, I made a wet-finger guess.

There's a loyal following of people who use the older style Maytag washing machine. The parts are cheap and readily available and the machine is a workhorse. Repairs are easy save for one item -- The tool used to remove the balancing springs is no longer readily available. I don't believe it's manufactured anymore. So you see a lot of videos on you tube from people who have rigged up many different ways to remove those springs. The best way is to stuff about $3 worth of nickles into the springs so they can be removed and put back without damaging the washing machine. It's a slow and laborious pro
