McNuts Squirrel House 🐿️🥜 Welcome to McNuts – a fun, fast-food-inspired squirrel house designed to give your local wildlife a cosy place to eat, drink and shelter. This is one of my larger designs and has been a great learning experience as I continue to improve my 3D modelling skills. There are definitely things I’ll refine in future projects, but I’m really pleased with how this one turned out and I hope you enjoy printing and building it as much as I enjoyed designing it. Features Multiple entry and exit holes. Internal table for holding nuts. Two recessed roof trays that can be used for extra nuts or water. Two mounting options: Fits onto a square fence post. Can be screwed directly to a fence or tree using the top and bottom fixing points. Print Settings Material: PETG recommended for outdoor use. Walls: 3 Infill: 15% Designed for use with an AMS (or other multicolour system), but if you only have a single-colour printer, the parts can easily be painted after printing. Assembly Approximately 26 × M5 screws are required. Screw lengths range from 10 mm to 30 mm, depending on the part being assembled. The road supports have limited material for the screws to bite into, so adding a small amount of glue during assembly is recommended for extra strength. If you print one, I’d love to see it!
