Mechanical Ventilator

The freebreath is a mechanical ventilator in development to be part of the solution to supply the high demand of ventilators due to the COVID-19 through its great capability of being mostly producedby additive manufacture, overcoming a potential lack of components in industry. It consists in anelectronic controlled system to provide an adjustable volume of air and oxygen mixture to the lungsby the pumping action of a cylinder-piston system. The exhaled fluid is directed to a PEEP valve and then to the filter system, designed to avoid contamination of the healthcare workers. More details are given in the freebreath (4).pdf document.
