Meteor Crater

Meteor Crater is an impact crater located approximately 60 km east of Flagstaff, Arizona (western United States). It is also called Barringer Crater, in memory of mining engineer Daniel Moreau Barringer who purchased the site in 1903. It had previously been named Canyon Diablo Crater, the name which remained that of the meteorite at the origin of the crater.
