Let it be noted in advance: I am better at CAD and 3D printing than at flying and knowing quadcopters.

My first steps in quadcopter tech I followed really closely to punkkill's thing description http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1221911 and his great instructable.
But, as I soon discovered, building quadcopters is the easy part. My indoor maiden flight ended badly, and worse than expected. After trying out prop guards (nah, not suitable for real crashes) and even a quadcopter design that protects the propeller blades, the Mini Whoop, http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1715901 (too weak frame for the kind of crashes I seem to like), I decided to design my own as-crash-resistant-as-possible and indoor-capable beginner's quadcopter frame.

I present to you the NOOBCOPTER - 55g without battery, but with well protected props and motors and a closely fitting flight controller mount.
