This adapter allows you to convert a V-wheel Microswiss Direct Drive to a Bowden extruder for additional use after one converts to linear rails.
The Extruder works VERY well as a bowden, equally as well as being a direct drive. Just up the retraction a bit and you are off to the races.
Picture shows mounting.
Clamping action only displaces the surface of the PTFE tube by .1mm in all directions. Enough to hold it, but don't overtighten it. or it will constrict the filament path and jam the printer.
Secondary benefit, if you apply just enough tension to hold the PTFE tube into place while printing normally, if you have a jam or other issue at the head, it will push the tube out of that holder, vs making a melted plastic nightmare. (Less destructive fails)
Simply cut the filament, re-run through the extruder, re-tighten the tube, and bam... Back to the races.
:-)
Enjoy!
