A DIY midi USB host. Will convert your USB midi keyboard to DIN. No need for a computer in-between the keyboard and the synth.
The USB host board will supply 5v to the midi keyboard. Measured @9v, 35ma without anything connected and 70ma with the Novation Launchkey mini connected to the USB port.
Parts (cost ~25£).
USB Host card - http://www.hobbytronics.co.uk/usb-host-midi
Midi Breakout Board - http://www.hobbytronics.co.uk/midi-breakout
Voltage regulator - Used LM7805
Caps - 0.33uf , 0.1uf
LED + resistor - http://led.linear1.org/1led.wiz
On/Off switch - Used one from my junk box
9v Battery + Connector
M3 screws x4 - Bottom to top part,
Small self tapping screws x9 - Found some in my junk box, guess you can use anything that fits.
The size of the switch I used might be hard to find so I included a bottom part without any switch cutout. Then you can either drill a hole your self of make a remix that will fit your needs.
