Makes
A small vertical axis wind turbine for milliWatt applications.
Other components:
(1) 2mm dia x 80mm steel shaft
(1) 2mm ID x 5mm OD x 6mm long brass or bronze bushing
(1) 2mm ID x 5mm OD ball bearing
(16) 8mm dia x 3mm thick neodymium magnets
(1) M2 washer
(1) 5mm White LED
(8) #4 x 1/2" long flat head screws for winding fixture
38 AWG Magnet wire ( 362 turns on winding fixture )
Adhesives such as epoxy and CA
Note:
Small removable discs are printed where the magnets mount to eliminate the need for support material.
I had to use a needle file to open up the bushing slightly to reduce binding.
Some construction details may be seen in this video: https://youtu.be/nNgdBGisNKw
Also included are the .lua script used in the FEMM simulation and the LibreOffice spreadsheet used in the design
