This is my submission for the multi-part desktop game.
I began this challenge by researching various arcade games from 90s as I wanted to incorporate a sense of nostalgia into my design. This research led to the exploration of small plastic games that that were sold in Kinder Surprises and Happy Meals at McDonalds. These designs featured compact forms with multiple parts that could connect together.
After my initial research, I began visualising my concept through two-dimensional and three-dimensional sketches. This allowed me to work out the basic form, sizes and components. I then moved into Autodesk Fusion 360 to design this product digitally for 3D printing.
My concept is based on a two-part marble maze design with a changeable top. Using a small 5mm marble, the design requires the user to rotate the game in their hands whilst allowing the marble to travel from one side of the maze to the other.
