I redrew this project: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3167343 so it would take some available hardware I had. I have been using the key for 6 months and am very happy with it, for its cost. It doesn't compare to a full size key but it is handy for SOTA operations.
It is important to print the base flat or it will rock during use. If you can't print it flat you can add some rubber feet.
Hardware:
2 #4 x 3/8" Round head Philips wood screws
2 #4 x 1/2" Round head Philips wood screws
1 #4 x 3/4" Round Head Phillips wood screw
1 spring .375” OD and about 3/4” long. I had a box of springs and found the right one by trial and error. A Ace hardware store should have one suitable.
1 Mono audio cable or pig tail. I got a pack of 5 from Amazon for $5.
You may need to drill the base to allow free movement in the key. It depends on your screws and printer setup.
The two short screws are the contacts and are wired to the pigtail. The cavity in the base allows room to tie a knot
