This is my small contribution to the Billington Repairs "DIY Laser Power Meter"

This "thing" is a frame to house the optical sensor and a 4 Pin FFC ribbon cable to allow you to use the Laser Power Meter with portable MiniDisc players. The concept is that the ribbon cable is thin enough to allow you to close the door. The reason for offset setting the ribbon cable from the centre is to allow for the latch on the most portable units to close, making it easier and safer to test the laser in your device.

This is probably more about the idea than the actual "thing," as I imagine you will need to adjust this for your application
