This was my first Request by a co-worker at my organization to design an object from scratch to solve a specific real world issue. My Network Admin came to me with the issue that in some areas of our Building the Cisco switches had to be mounted vertically as opposed to the normal horizontal rack mount. The issue was that he only had 1-2 fiber channel ports in use and the other Mini-GBIC ports were empty and being mounted vertically meant that dust and dirt were getting into the open ports and getting into the Routers. He wanted to know if I could design a Plug/Cover for the unused Mini-GBIC Ports. Two iterations later (first one the pull tab was too thin and flimsy) I was printing them out for him in Dozens to deploy around the Building.... SUCCESS!!
