This fits strip lights from amazon.

I cut them short so I had to scrape away the insulation tape to expose the copper traces and reconnect the circuit.
The seem to illuminate the build area well enough. I am using 24v leds to avoid buck converters (one less thing to go wrong/start a fire)
I used a thermal cam on the lights in the link above and they don't get near hot enough to melt PLA even. So should be safe for PETG or ABS, (or if you are really talented PC).
I installed them with a switch to turn on/off manually. They do hinder you seeing the nozzle a bit. I may rework the design or come up with something else separate from the cooling mount.
