Since there are few standards in the parts supplied for 3D printers, especially with stepper motors and their wiring (heck they can't even agree on the colors!), I thought it would be nice to have a desktop setup that would facilitate testing the motors and identifying the proper wire configuration.
I have trouble maintaining a clean workbench so I avoid leaving electronics unprotected and would prefer to have a well-labeled enclosure so I could experiment with connecting devices and determine what goes where.
To that end, I have created a case which holds an MKS Base 1.5 controller board and a "RepRapDiscount Smart Controller" all in a single package. The case has provisions for mounting an XT60 for supply power and XT30's for Bed and Extruder feeds. Granted the XT60 is overkill, but I wanted to have a simple way of separating the Power Supply connection from the power signals.
The rest of the connections are handled by JST SM connectors which are clearly marked on the case. I cho
