Anubis, the ancient Egyptian god of funerary rites and the care of the dead, represented by a jackal or a figure of a man with a jackal's head. In the Early Dynastic Period and the Old Kingdom, he occupied a prominent position as the lord of the dead. His role is reflected in such epithets as "He who is on his mountain" (i.e. necropolis), "Lord of the sacred land", "The first of the Westerners" and "He who is in the place of embalming".

He paid special attention to the funerary cult and the car
