Model of Danish King Valdemar - The first King Valdemar was the child of Ingeborg of Novgorod, Mstislavna (born around 1100, died 1137) was married to Knud Lavard, Duke of Southern Jutland. She was the daughter of Grand Prince Mstislav of Kiev and Kristina Ingesdatter, and the granddaughter of Grand Prince Volodymyr Monomakh of Kiev.So the Danish name Valdemar is the Danish for Volodymyr.
