George Bullock, William Hey

A sculptor, cabinet maker and marble mason, Bullock worked in Birmingham and Liverpool before settling in London. He furnished Sir Walter Scott’s home and was celebrated for his portrait busts, furnitureand interiors. The subject, William Hey, was a pioneering Leeds surgeon. He founded the Leeds General Infirmary and served as its senior surgeon for nearly 40 years.
