Sometimes ideas just pop out of nowhere from your subconscious. The idea of a Spider-Man/Peter Parker in grief, or pain, or anguish, came to me very suddenly, and I knew I wanted to pursue it. This was a rough one to get right, and I'm still not happy with how some things about it came out. So,
