A friend died and his sister requested a Moai Urn for the ashes. The added complication is it needed to be big enough for him, his father and his mother (still living). I did a remix of the high quality, hollow moai to get the necessary smooth detail. To make it big enough I needed to print in parts. The formula for capacity is 1 cu cm per pound body weight.
This needed to be done quickly, and print times were exceptional at 79 hours for the bottom and 50+ hours for the top. I chose to use supports because I didn't have time for a reprint if things went south.
If I do a re-design these are the things I need to fix:
1. Position the top knot (hat) more upright
2. My tiny brain put reverse threads in, so I'd get them the right way next. Or, maybe not. With reverse threads there's maybe less chance for someone opening.
3. Make the bottom shaft of the top knot (hat) a separate assembly to minimize support.
