This is a remix/tweak of Kevin Palivec's WONDERFUL clamp to re-inforce/repair the base of the Dwarf II telescope.
If you didn't know, the early production runs had a weakness that allowed the bottom/center part of the base (which is where a tripod screws in) to detach from the rest of the telescope.
The use of the screws is optional. I'm pretty sure it voids any warranty for the telescope from Dwarf Labs. USE THE SCREWS AT YOUR OWN RISK; I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE YOU CAUSE TO YOUR TELESCOPE BY USING THIS DESIGN. BY PRINTING A COPY OF THIS THING, YOU AGREE TO HOLD ME HARMLESS FOR ANY DAMAGES YOU CAUSE TO YOUR TELESCOPE.
I used PLA, 100% infill, no supports. It's a very tight fit, I recommend sliding it on as opposed to snapping it on.
My tweaks were:
- Removed the extra overhang at the ends
- Made it a little narrower, and added a shallow curved indent on either side to support the fact that the base is not actually rectangular
- Made an indent on the bottom
