Modular Horizontal Slat Railing System (Project DeckR)

Horizontal slat railings are a common feature on many terraces and decks, yet their design often leaves little room for traditional hanging decorations. This project aims to turn that unused space into a functional asset. I have developed a modular mounting thingy specifically designed to fit into the gaps of standard slat railings, providing a sturdy foundation for various outdoor accessories without the need for permanent modifications to your home.

The core of this system is a universal base mount that uses a hook-and-screw mechanism to lock securely onto the railing slats. Once the base is installed, it features a sliding rail interface that allows you to quickly attach or swap different modules.

While this initial set includes everything you need to get started with the base system, I am already working on several other attachments. I have plans for multiple planter variations and other outdoor organizers that will all be compatible with this mount.
