Modular Media Shelving

[Introduction]I was looking on Amazon for a media shelf/bookcase for all my blu-rays and video games. There was a review on one particular item that spurred me into action. The reviewer mentioned about how cheap the product was, but that it'd get him by until he could build something better. Hmm, build something better. So instead of getting a cheap media shelf of questionable quality off of Amazon I decided why not, why not just make it myself! And thus, this project was born. A modular media shelving system. I wanted a system that was stylish and that I could expand upon as I collected more media. I wanted to have the option to be able to easily secure it against the wall. I planned to use it in a bookcase configuration, but I also liked the idea that it could be used as a standalone shelf too, built up to make more interesting shelving systems for.
