This solution for the NASA Lunar Sampling System is a design-to-cost tool based entirely on aluminum, all the pieces are sheet cut by laser, except the base that connects with the robotic arm of the rover, which is manufactured by machining. Its total weight is 0.478 Kg. Its hexagon-shaped end must be connected to a robotic arm with movement in enough axes to allow the movement of digging in the lunar soil and the rotation of the head around the longitudinal axis of the tool. Finally, I want to thank the collaboration of my teammate @Jesús Perez in the design of this tool.
