This is a 4-piece printable structure (I don't feel confident enough to call it a real sculpture) to raise a little awareness about epilepsy.
I have been living with epilepsy since I was around 14. That meant I spent 13 years without having to worry about how many days seizures free I am. Not having to worry about medications and medication timings. Or to know about EEG's or have to do an MRI, or a sleep study; or worry that i have a 1 in 1,000 random chance of dying suddenly and for no reason currently understood by any medical professional. But now I do.
The pixelized letters in this print are emblazoned with the number of things. From derogatory terms often used to describe people with epilepsy, to phrases like "I need a ride" that I have to repeat often. Or other things like the isolation you feel as you try and dodge your seizure triggers. This is a testament to living with epilepsy and how it is more than just seizures.
If you feel at all inspired by my story here or any
