motionEyeOS is a Linux distribution that turns your single board computer into a video surveillance system. Check out the wiki for more details.

If you have a spare Raspberry Pi - or any of a number of other single board computers - you can use motionEyeOS to keep an eye on your 3D printers.

I have been using motionEyeOS for a couple of years in a homebrew security system involving three Raspberry Pi’s and six cameras. It just seemed logical to use what I know to watch my 3D printers.

I’m not the author of motionEyeOS, but I have his permission to spread the word about his project. And it’s free!

I’ve included a 3D model of the motionEyeOS logo.
