This is a lightweight tripod connector I designed for mountaineering. It lets you quickly turn three trekking poles into a stable tripod platform. The top supports a standard camera head, making it great for outdoor photography or mounting light gear.
Top Interface
The bottom has a standard 1/4” threaded hole. You’ll need to install a 1/4” screw yourself, then add a 1/4” to 3/8” adapter ring to mount a typical tripod head.
Trekking Pole Interface
There are three holes, each 12mm in diameter, which fit most trekking poles. I recommend using a thin cord (like 0.8mm utility line or UHMWPE rope) to tension between the poles—it greatly improves stability.
Print Settings
I used PLA-CF with a 0.4mm nozzle, 4-wall thickness, and 30% infill. Load tested over 10kg—plenty strong for a typical camera setup.
Extra Parts
The files also include two small but essential accessories: a hook and a tensioner (basically a 3-hole guyline adjuster). They can be tied to your trekking pole straps to help b
