I wanted to make a multi-spool filament holder that didn't cost much and worked perfectly. I have found this size PVC pipe (1.25") works really well. I bought the PVC from Home Depot, but it's what they call 'Furniture Grade' PVC. The brand name is Formufit. The surface of the pipe is very, very slippery; little to no friction at all. And because of the diameter, the spools rotate on it with minimal force. The total cost was $45, but there are extra pieces. Like I said, I used 1.25" Formufit and bought:
1.25" X 5' Furniture Grade (FG) Schedule 40 PVC pipe - Qty. 1
4-pack of Formufit FG 1.25" 4-way tees - Qty. 1
4-pack of Formufit FG 1.25" 90 degree elbows - Qty. 1
10-pack of Formufit FG 1.25" External Flat End Caps - Qty. 1
The lengths to cut are:
4 X 4"
2 X 16"
2 X 6"
You will have to buy more lengths of pipe if you want bigger dimensions. You can easily make this even cheaper by getting regular PVC, but the furniture grade stuff is well worth it and this thing is very,
