Multipurpose Project Board

For my contest entry, I redesigned the project board. When working on computers and other projects requiring small parts or compartmentalized materials, it’s commonplace to lose tiny screws. With this project board, however, that is no longer a concern. With handy indented slots allowing for the storage and separation of small parts, you will never lose a screw again. The circular slots allow for the insertion of a small cup for the storage of larger parts or liquids. The slot on the bottom acts as storage for a pencil or pen. Since the parts are all contained within this board, it also allows a user to move around their parts easily. If the parts were all loose, it would take much longer to individually move all of the various components. This design can also act as a painting pallet. The slots can be used to hold paints, and the longer slot can be used to hold smaller brushes. The circular slots can be used to hold small cups of water, to wash brushes in between strokes, or to hold additional paints and materials. My project board was designed to be printed using FDM technology and PLA plastics. I created it in Mr. DeFalco’s class at the Bergen County Academies.
