MunchBox latch replacement.
My wife said now that you have this 3D printer can you make a new latch?
I said when I get the hang of fusion 360 I will.
The original latch always breaks at the pivot point. Even the replacment latch breaks.
My version is a slightly tighter fit when in the locked position. May get better with usage.
For little kids it may be a bit tight so a bit of sanding on the locking edge.
There may be a redraw if this is a issue to increase the clearance.
Drill the hinge pin holes with 2mm drill.
Using the old 2mm pins press them into the new latch. press the pins in when in the correct position on the lunchbox case. Use a drop of super glue to stop the pin popping out.
The pink version in the photos was printed in ABS on my Tevo Tranantula (lots of upgrades) in a semi enclosure to stop warping and delimitation. This version is very strong at 100% fill. Put it this way I smashing it with a hammer 3 times only bruised the test latch.
