I've created a 90's-style 3D Printer Toy, complete with “Rattle-N-Spin” AMS. I modeled the entire thing in Fusion 360, and spent about a month longer than I'd hoped prototyping. This was a really fun build for me, personally, because I got to do a lot with different types of gears and components that I've never used before in my models, and I learned a ton. The assembly is quite complex, so I put together a detailed Assembly Guide which should make things simpler. A few things to note about this build: This print profile was optimized for a Supertack Cool Plate, and as a result I don't use a lot of brims in my print profile. If you're printing on a PEI plate, I recommend that you download the file and add brims and other supports. This entire model prints at 90% size. The reason for this is I was halfway done modeling when I realized that it wouldn't fit on the build plate. Regardless of your printer size, if you print at 100%, the fasteners and bearings won't fit, so please, only print at 90%. Features: I really tried to capture the feel of a 3d printer and the 90s nostalgia of this style of toy. 3-Axis controls including X- and Y- axis moving print-head plus a Z-axis moving Print Bed! AMS that mimics the “spinning rattles” from 90s plastic toys, as well as some “hit-a-mole" style buttons Visible fat-toothed gears to give the feeling of an old-school STEM toy. Bright colors (of course, you can choose your own colors) Faces and characters that really bring you back. Four “printable” friends: Arty the articulated Dragon, Boaty the benchmark Boat, Scrappy the Scraper, and Eddie Spaghetti. These characters are of course, based on the 4 most common things that folks print on a new 3d printer I should also note that 100% of the modelling for this project was done by me, by hand, using Fusion 360, including the Printable Friends. I hope folks like this!
