Due to the fact that i am working as a coach in a speed strength sport, i needed a tool to measure the development and variation of speed strength for my athletes for two reasons:

First one is, to check the improvement over longer periods (e.g. begin of training cycle and end of training cycle before competition).

Second one is to measure the degree of fatigue on a daily basis to adjust the training program accordingly. High fatigue level: short and light training session. Low fatigue: hard and challenging training.

So the easiest way to do this is measuring the jumping performance. It's easy, quick and a scientifically proofed indicator for speed strength and fatigue. Other side of the medal was, that such tools are pretty expensive out there, jump mats, laser based modules etc.

So i decided to build my own low-budget one. I Used the Arduino Nano, an OLED Display, a light sensor and a laser diode. Everything put together just gives a nice little tool to measure jump heigh
