This socket, along with the original [Nanoleaf Wire Connector](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2267261), can be used to place the controller without sacrificing an edge of the lighting. This means you could recess or frame the lights without a bulge for the controller.
After reading about a [Nanoleaf Aurora Icosahedron](https://nanoleaf.me/en/2018/02/07/the-icosahedron/), finding some [printable corners](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2708414) that could be used to build one, and [remixing those](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2824121) to print more easily, there were still problems with creating a full icosahedron.
The original article only uses 18 of the 20 sides, because it sits on a desk and one additional side is "taken up" by the controller. But I wanted to hang a complete icosahedron. This connector let me put the controller inside so all 20 sides can be light panels.
NOTE: The images and early tests are performed with telephone wire, which is not rated for this
