A novel bucket wheel based sampling system design Capable of producing low resistance while simultaneously , achieves direct transfer into a collection bin. Three filters act as sorting regime: one 2cm filter on the cylindrical area of bucket wheel ensures no more than 2cm regolith collection; one 1 cm filter attached to channel in between collection vessel and bucket wheel with detachable solid channel underneath, functions to filter out 1 cm stones to push forward layer of >1 cm stone samples; one 0.5 cm filter attached on top of collection vessel to clear out >0.5 cm sample to layer the <1 cm regolith layer. Thus, layering system requirements are met with robustness achieved through two relays control and optimized mechanism composition. Bucket wheel has a special inner cone component which acts as a sample leading slope to collect first stage of sample excavated from bucket. This design decreases complexity in bucket wheel sample transfer paradigm, where sample is delivered through desired path naturally following configured groove with height difference to collection rail.
