Alright, déjà vu time. Yes, it’s another pinecone. No, it’s still not that pinecone. This one, however, decided to dress up: smooth ivory scales, a clean pedestal, and a flashy holly brooch in gold and red. Think of it as the pinecone that shows up overdressed at the Christmas party — elegant, minimal, but with just enough bling to make the others jealous. 🎄✨ If your mind still goes there, fine… open your slicer, trim the base, and voilà — secret kept between you and your printer. 🎅😏 -Please note: In the 3MF file, I decided to modify the base by adding the text “Merry Christmas.” However, if you want to get a model identical to the one in the photo, simply remove the text from the objects section in your slicer and remove the red color from the base. -Christmas is supposed to be the season of kindness… or so the cookie ads say. So, to avoid looking like a Grinch with a 3D printer, I’ve prepared pre-colored 3MF files for you. Still, I swear by acrylic paints: more artisanal, more satisfying, and — bonus — no mountains of plastic leftovers. But if you’re on Team “multicolor without a brush,” go ahead — files are ready to print. Don’t say I never spoil you. -⚙ Print settings Model height: 10 cm Printing technology: FDM Material: PLA Layer height: 0.16 mm PLA used: ~230 g Printing time: ~7 h Extra tips: 10% infill • supports only under the holly leaves • light brim for stability Fuzzy skin finish: optional, 0.2 mm, if you want a more “natural bark” effect -🖌 Painting & finishing tips Base color: print in natural or white PLA, leave body unpainted for a clean look. Details: metallic gold for the holly leaves, bright red for the berries. Shading: a soft sepia wash between the scales adds depth. Final coat: satin varnish to keep the contrast between matte body and glossy accents. -If this pinecone had an Instagram, the holly would be its profile pic 😎
