(Nearly) Impossible Puzzle

This is a puzzle I designed for an engineering class. No one has figured out the solution yet. (the photo is a failed attempt at solving it) The parts are all separate so that you cant see how it was built. When completed correctly, it should form a 4x4x4 cube with no air spaces
