I have a 100 year-old house and the doorbell was mounted to an old and small electrical box. When I got a [Nest Hello](https://nest.com/doorbell/nest-hello/overview/) doorbell I couldn't mount it in the same place because it wouldn't cover the electrical box. So I made this mounting plate that 1) has screw holes aligned with the existing electrical box, 2) has screw holes that match the Nest Hello's mounting holes to mount the doorbell and 3) is big enough to cover the existing electrical box and covers the screw holes in the stucco that the old doorbell used. See [my blog post](https://troyandgay.com/2018/03/24/nest-hello/).

If you have an old (small) electrical box like mine, it may work without modification. If not, you will probably have to move the mounting holes to fit yours.
