Put your neurons to work and build a brain with this “Neuron Construction Set.”
The snap faces on the neuron body align with the faces of a rhombic dodecahedron, so the “Axon Dendrite Connectors” form the struts of an octet truss. You can fill 3D space infinitely!
Adult brains have approximately 86 billion neurons, but if you plan on printing off this many be sure that your workspace is at least 21.5 million cubic meters.
The “Dendrite” and “Axon Dendrite Connector” have built in supports to allow the male snap to print properly. You do not need to add additional supports, but brim might be helpful.
The “Neuron Body” has two holes with horizontal overhangs at the top. The overhangs are less than 5mm and can be bridged with a well calibrated printer. You may need to do a small amount of filing to smooth the surface, but this option is likely easier than using support for these small overhangs.
