NEUVent

This design is a novel low-cost, low part count ventilator to help with the COVID-19 crisis. The core innovation of the design is a fully 3D printable "airflow manifold" that contains paths for air, integrated 3D printed check and ball valves with motor actuation, and slots for sensors. This design allows for low cost and quick manufacturing by eliminating the need for extraneous valves and tubing. Our ventilator concept uses a centrifugal blower, a custom control system based on a Microchip PIC24 microcontroller, and off-the-shelf sensors to achieve the system requirements outlined by Ximedica. This design was created by FutureScape Engineering, a product design house based out of Northeastern University in Boston, MA.
