Nigersaurus hueforge

Nigersaurus was a unique and fascinating dinosaur that lived around 110 million years ago during the middle of the Cretaceous period. It belonged to the group known as sauropods, the long-necked, plant-eating dinosaurs, but it was unlike most of its relatives in both size and appearance. Measuring about nine metres in length and weighing roughly four tonnes, it was relatively small for a sauropod, comparable in size to a modern elephant. Its fossils were first discovered in the Republic of Niger, in the Sahara Desert, which is how it received its name, meaning “Niger reptile.” One of the most remarkable features of Nigersaurus was its skull and feeding apparatus.
