Nitrobenzene is an organic compound with the formula C₆H₅NO₂, featuring a nitro group attached to a benzene ring. It is a pale yellow, water-insoluble oil with a characteristic almond-like odor. This synthetic chemical is not found naturally and is produced on a large scale by the nitration of benzene using a mixture of nitric and sulfuric acids. The vast majority of nitrobenzene is used to manufacture aniline, a key precursor for polyurethane and other polymers. It also finds applications in the production of lubricating oils, dyes, drugs like paracetamol (acetaminophen), and synthetic rubber. Due to its toxicity, it is also sometimes used to mask unpleasant scents in polishes. Explore searchable catalogue of hundreds of molecules, including details on how models were generated. NotesIf you happen to break something, use superglue to fix it. It will make the broken part even stronger.I decided to go with the ball-and-stick type, as it is easiest to color, is rigid, and looks awesome.T
