Number Ten

Hi guys nice to meet you all
First post here so here i go
Hopefully i have all the correct information and that i have posted this in the correct area for advice.

Firstly I am having issue trying to print a base number for my house letterbox that i have downloaded here from Thingiverse but it appears now that no matter what i change in Cura to improve this its just getting worse.

The original items is about 80mm in size but i only need half of this so i just adjusted this in Cura and set it to 50%.
However now its been about 3 days that i'm tinkering around and i have printed about 6 set of numbers independently in a bid to try and get this to look something like a number that looks at least half decent.
I dont know what to do now as i am just getting this stringy plastic all over the place.

The machine i purchased was about 2 weeks ago and we managed to print out a few items with great success but it hasnt been all smooth sailing.
