NuTone IM 3003 Master Intercom Cabinet

The NuTone IM 3003 was a very popular intercom system and if your home was built back in the 1990's or earlier it may well have this system installed. If the cabinet was originally white the plastic has turned yellow with age, and because capacitors in the radio have a limited shelf life the radio reception probably isn't that good anymore. It is possible to get the plastic cabinet treated with peroxide and UV light to restore the color, and a number of businesses can repair the radio. Any realtor will tell you that the smart thing to do with these is remove them from the house and have someone good with drywall fill in the holes.
