When our company shifted from full-time work-from-home to a hybrid schedule, one unexpected challenge appeared: suddenly the office restrooms were a lot busier—and nobody could tell if they were free without trying the door.
To solve this daily annoyance, I designed a simple sliding indicator that mounts on the outside of the toilet door and clearly shows whether it’s Occupied or Free.
###About the Model
This print consists of a base plate, colored tiles, a slider, and a frame that encloses all the pieces.
It’s designed to be:
Easy to print (no supports required)
Durable for office use
Clear and readable from a distance
###Assembly & Use
Just put all the pieces together with a few drops of glue, leaving only the slider free to move.
###Why I Made It
With more people returning to the office, we needed a low-tech, no-battery, no-internet solution to avoid awkward “door jiggle” moments.
