Used Gurgelx controller holders to integrate neodymium magnets and attach it to a piece of 1/2" PVC to make it more affordable. Now you can pop the controller out and in via the magnets.
Print 2 controller bases and 1 of each controller (right and left). Cost me about $25 for all 4 pieces (may be less if you have a hook up).
Buy about 4' of 1/2" Schedule 40 PVC pipe from the hardware store. (~$2)

Get 2 elbows and 2 caps (~$1.50)
Buy these pipe clamps (the controller bases are made to work specifically with these clamps. (make sure it's the #0 ones - $2.65)

I've also found that a 1/4" nut for each clamp helps bolt it on really tight and sturdy.
These magnets work great ~$8.50 (you can also skip the magnets and just glue the pieces together and slip the controllers in and out of the holders - similar to
